July 19 to be ‘Black Day’ in Pakistan against Indian violence in IHK

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had called a special cabinet meeting on Friday (today) at Governor House in Lahore to evaluate deteriorating situation in IHK.

Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry briefed the cabinet members over the ongoing protests and violation of human rights in Indian-held Kashmir and discussed the situation unfolding in the troubled valley after the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani last Friday (July 8) during a gunfight with Indian troops.

Speaking to the participants of the cabinet meeting, the premier said Indian forces have not and would not be able to hold back decades-old freedom fight of the Kashmiri people.

The meeting reiterated Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) commitment to raise the burning issue of Kashmir on the international front.

The government and the people of Pakistan are with the Kashmiri people till their liberation from the Indian-rule, said Sharif.

Earlier on Thursday, on the directions of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Foreign Office had called on Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan and conveyed strong concerns of the Pakistani government and people amid fierce violation of human rights in Kashmir.
