President Mamnoon Hussain administered the oath to the newly sworn-in chief justice.
Justice Mulk is installed as the new CJ till August 16, 2015.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also attended the oath-taking ceremony. Other participants of the ceremony include former chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary, Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman, governor Khyber Pakhtonkhwa, Federal Information Minister Pervez Rasheed, Science and Technology minister Zahid Hamid, Supreme Court judges and lawyers as well as representatives of armed forces.
Justice Nasirul Mulk, an
erstwhile senior judge of the Peshawar High Court, belongs to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province. He was born on August 17, 1950 in Swat, Pakistan and completed his degree of Bar-at-Law from Inner Temple London and was called to the Bar in 1977.
Justice Mulk was sworn in as the new acting Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of Pakistan last year in November, when outgoing CJP Jillani took oath as the country’s top judge.
