K-Electric observing four-hour load shedding schedule, not responsible for deaths, says its CEO

The chief of the power utility, Tayyab Tareen, talking in ARY News talk show ‘Eleventh Hour’ hosted by Waseem Badami, claimed that the K-Electric observing a schedule of four hours load shedding in the city.

Provincial Information Minister Sharjeel Memon had blamed the K-Electric and the Federal Ministry of Water and Power for the heatwave deaths in the metropolis and had announced to register FIRs against them.

K-Electric chief in the talk show expressed his astonishment over the statement of the minister. Instead of accepting the rampant unscheduled power load shedding, the power utility chief denied the practice.

He claimed that his company pursuing a schedule of four-hour load shedding in the metropolis daily. He further said that only two percent areas of Karachi facing disruption of power supplies due to technical faults.

However, the city’s power boss failed to clarify the question, why the people of the city are protesting on roads in the searing summer from first of the fasting month of Ramazan against unavailability of electricity in their localities.
