KARACHI: A third-degree fire which broke out inside a clothing warehouse located in an industrial area of Karachi on Saturday, has been brought under control, ARY News reported.
The fire erupted overnight inside the Export Processing Zone in Landhi area, and gradually engulfed the entire warehouse damaging millions worth of clothes.
Chief fire officer Tahseen Ahmed said the department was alerted late after the fire broke out. He said the fire was caused after a Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinder exploded on the first storey of the warehouse.
The fire spread quickly and intensified into a third-category fire, while the shed of the warehouse also collapsed. Firefighters faced immense difficulties to put out the fire as ten fire brigade vehicles, one snorkel and water hose were involved in the firefighting.
