Khawaja Asif says Afghan soil used by TTP against Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said that the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is using Afghanistan soil for their attacks on Pakistan, ARY News reported quoting foreign media outlet.

In an interview with an international publication, Khawaja Asif said that Pakistan has taken up the issue of the use of Afghanistan soil by the outlawed TTP against Pakistan. 

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif further said that on his last visit to Afghanistan, he discussed this matter in detail with the Taliban government and they agreed to cooperate with Pakistan.

The Afghan Taliban government assured that their soil will not be used against any other country.

Earlier, the National Security Committee (NSC) approved a multi-pronged comprehensive operation with the support of the government and the nation to eradicate the menace of terrorism from the country with a new resolve, determination and valour.

It was noted that due to the return of the dangerous terrorists and the support of different terrorist organizations to them from Afghanistan, peace and stability, which were the result of innumerable sacrifices and continuous efforts, were affected.
