Khyber Pakhtunkhwa introduces ethics teaching in govt schools

PESHAWAR: On direction of the chief secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, KP Elementary & Secondary Education Department has introduced sessions on ethics in schools across the province.

The department has directed all schools to daily conduct assembly presentation to teach ethics.

“KP E&SE plans to organize awareness sessions on ethics including respect of elders, hygiene, abiding by law and traffic rules and steps against abuse,” said a release.

Director General of KP E&SE Rafiq Khattak said schools had been communicated topics including respect of elders and parents, abiding by traffic rules, hygiene and cleanness.

“We have directed all schools to conduct debates and speeches by students on daily basis. This will not only help in raising awareness among the students but also improve communications and presentation skills of the students,” he said.

“We will make sure this policy is religiously followed and implemented across KP and will continue to monitor all schools,” the director general added.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa govt to hire only female teachers at primary schools

The provincial cabinet this week approved the proposal that the K-P Elementary and Secondary Education Department had made in January. From now on, only women will be hired on new vacancies for primary schoolteachers.
