ABBOTTABAD: Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani on Saturday stressed the need for utilization of natural resources for development of the province.
Addressing a function in Abbottabad, he said, “Our province has huge reserves of oil and gas which need to be explored.”
Referring to the gas load-shedding in various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he said the problem will be resolved up to January 15.
Earlier last month, Minister for Petroleum Ghulam Sarwar Khan said that exploration of oil and gas would be given preference in order to support and strengthen the national economy.
Sarwar Khan regretted that the exploration was not given preference in the past and that was why the country was spending 16 billion dollars a year on import of petroleum products.
He pointed out that we import 85 percent of petroleum products from abroad.
The minister assured that any project in the petroleum sector would be executed with complete transparency and no compromise would be made on quality.
