Virat Kohli is world’s worst behaved player, says Naseeruddin Shah

Veteran Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah on Monday termed Indian cricket team’s captain Virat Kohli “world’s worst behaved player”.

“Virat K is not only the world’s best batsman but also the world’s worst behaved player. His cricketing brilliance pales beside his arrogance and bad manners.. And I have no intention of leaving the country by the way,” the ‘Ghalib’ actor wrote on his Facebook page.

The comments came shortly after Kohli engaged in heated exchanges with his Australian counterpart Time Paine on day four of the second test against Australia, one of which forced umpire Chris Gaffaney to step in. Television stump microphones also caught Paine verbally jabbing Kohli on several occasions.

While a number of Indians backed Kohli, the legendary actor termed Indian captain the “best batsman” but the “worst behaving player” with the warning that he doesn’t want to leave country.

Not long ago, Virat Kohli was trolled for a video where he asked a fan to leave India who said that he liked English and Australian batsmen more than the current Indian players.

As expected, Indian social media erupted with anger and disbelief over Shah’s comments while some of them also came in support for Shah.

Tell me one thing. What was so rude about Kohli? Tim Paine just over reacted,” wrote one fan.

“He is different from anyone I love his attitude. He only cares about India 🇮🇳 and win for India That’s good really good.” wrote another.

Well at times he gets over excited and that is not good. True.” another one wrote.
