Korea Rail shows interest in technology transmit to Pakistan Railways

LAHORE: Korean Rail Network Authority has articulated its interest in joint project with Pakistan Railways Network system.

Korea Rail Network Authority General Manager Kim Young June and Director Overseas Project Division Cheng Nam stated that, they are enthusiastic to initiate joint ventures so as to present modern technology to Pakistan during their visit to Workshop Division of the railways on the second day of their tour to Pakistan Railway Headquarters on Wednesday.

Previously, Ghulam Qasim, the Divisional Superintendent of Workshop presented a comprehensive report on Wagon & Carriage Factory, under the administration of Aijaz Ahmed Buriro, Additional General Manager Mechanical.

During the briefing, it was informed that Pakistan Railway Workshop Division includes Loco Shops, Construction Shop, Carriage & Wagon Shop, Electric Shop, Steel Shop & Power House.

Furthermore, a detailed preamble of every segment was provided to the delegation and later, a tour was followed by to the carriage and wagon factory.

Also, the Korean Delegation presented briefing on improvement of Korea Rail Network.

Later, the delegation visited Mughalpura Dry Port where Tahir Hassan Bukhari, Chief Traffic Officer briefed.

The General Manager of Korea Rail Network Authority also took part in plantation of alstonia (plant) at the location of Divisional Superintendent Workshop.

Also, the delegation were awarded the honorary shield on behalf of Pakistan Railways by the Additional General Manger traffic.
