KP govt inaugurates special enrollment campaign

KHYBER AGENCY: The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP) inaugurated a special enrollment campaign to enhance literacy ratio in the province, Radio Pakistan reported.

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan launched the campaign in Khyber district on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood said the government is committed for the promotion of quality education across the country.

“Launching of literacy campaign from Khyber is a proof of our love for the tribal people,” he stated.

The chief minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said 8,00,000 children will be enrolled in government schools during this campaign.

Mahmood Khan said the government will provide scholarships, stipends and financial assistance to the talented students of tribal districts for higher education.

He ensured that efforts are underway to provide free education to students from eight to sixteen years of age in tribal areas.

Reiterating Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision to serve people of tribal areas, the CM said that the his government will build more schools in the areas where there are none, for the provision of free education to children.
