Polling will start at 8 am and continue till 5 pm without any break. The Election Commission of Pakistan has ordered authorities concerned to ensure women exercise their right to vote.
The elections at Village and Neighbourhood Councils will be held on non-party basis whereas on party basis at Tehsil and District Council level.
As many as 84,420 candidates are in the field for 41,762 seats.
While 11,211 polling stations have been set up where more than 13 million registered voters will elect their representatives.
A comprehensive security plan has been put in place to ensure peaceful atmosphere to the voters on the polling day.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission has shown serious concern over establishment of Control Room by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for consolidation of Local Government Elections’ result.
In a letter from the Secretary ECP, the Chief Secretary, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been asked to issue necessary directions to the quarter concerned not to establish any control room, as such Control Room already exists at Peshawar Election Commission office and in the Election Commission Secretariat.
Separately, police caught a vehicle with fake ballot papers and arrested four persons inside it.
