Lal Masjid Case: ATC issues arrest warrants for Musharraf

The arrest warrants of Pervez Musharraf were issued in the murder case of cleric of Lal Masjid Ghazi Abdul Rasheed for not appearing before the court.

On the other hand, the Aabpara police have received surety bonds worth Rs1 lakh for Pervez Musharraf.

The next hearing for the Abdul Rashid Ghazi murder case will take place on April 2.

The counsel of former president had previously questioned the jurisdiction of the court as a case regarding Lal Masjid is already pending in Supreme Court. He had also requested exemption from appearing in court for this case.

Musharraf faces a string of court cases dating back to his 1999-2008 rule, including over the death of Abdul Rashid Ghazi, one of more than 100 people killed after Pakistani troops stormed the Red Mosque in Islamabad on July 10, 2007.
