Landslide kills six labourers in Sargodha

SARGODHA: A landslide in a mountainous region of Sargodha killed at least six labourers and wounded two others on Wednesday, with rescue workers struggling to retrieve their bodies from under the tonnes of boulders, ARY News reported.

Rescue sources said the labourers were busy quarrying at a stone crushing site in Sargodha when a landslide buried them alive. The dead bodies of two of the victims were pulled out from the fallen rocks while rescue workers were hard at work with heavy machinery to recover the rest.

Two injured were also retrieved from the boulders and shifted to a nearby hospital for medical attendance, rescue officials said.
