Legendary actor Ali Ejaz passes away in Lahore

LAHORE: Renowned film, television and stage actor Ali Ejaz passed away on Tuesday at the age of 77, ARY news reported.

The veteran actor, who also suffered paralysis about 12 years ago, died due to cardiac arrest.

Known for his roles in classic plays like “Khawaja and Son”, “Shab Daig” and “Khoji”, Ejaz was considered one of the finest actors of what can be termed state-run Pakistan Television’s golden era.

Ejaz launched his film career in 1961 by starring in a film named “Insaniyat.” His famous movies include “Sala Sahab” and “Dubai Chalo” whereas “Khawaja and Son” was his most watched TV show.

Remembered as a “Punjabi superstar.” His movies, which were released in the 80s did record breaking business.

In 1993, he was honored with the prestigious Presidential Pride of Performance.

Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry, Chief Minister of Punjab Usman Buzdar and Punjab Information Minister Fayyaz Chauhan conveyed their condolences to the bereaved family.
