KARACHI: Light rain in different parts of the metropolis on Wednesday morning pushed the mercury down on the scale, intensifying the cold wave.
People in the city woke up to light rain with overcast sky. The temperature dropped to 15°C following the drizzle, the Met Office said, and added the maximum temperature will be 28°C during the day and the minimum 10°C.
It said drizzle will stop shortly and there are no chances of rainfall with cold and dry weather to grip the city.
The weather department said that more rain-thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills is expected at scatted places in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat divisions, Fata, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sarghodha, Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.
Whereas, the cold wave will persist in Sindh and Balochistan with foggy conditions over plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh during night and morning hours.
During the past 24 hours, the lowest temperature was recorded -09 °C in Kalat with -07°C in Quetta and -05°C in Dalbandin.
