Islamabad United beat Karachi Kings by five wickets

Islamabad United won the toss and chose to field first in the match.

Karachi Kings scored 128/5 in their 20 overs. Ravi Bopara was the stand out batsman for Karachi Kings as he made 45 runs from 50 balls with the help of four boundaries. Wicket keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim contributed 33 runs from 27 balls with two boundaries a six to his name.

Shahzaib Hasan also scored 27 runs from 19 balls.

Imran Khalid took two wickets while Mohammad Sami, Andre Russell and Azhar Mehmood took a wicket each as well.

In reply, Islamabad United, chasing 129 runs to win, reached the target in 18.5 overs with five wickets in hand.

A brief cameo by Asif Ali won the match for the Islamabad side. After Misbah’s departure, he single handedly won the match for them.

He scored 31 runs from 17 balls which included a boundary and three sixes.

The Islamabad captain was the top scorer for the team as he made 38 runs from 38 balls while Khalid Latif contributed 33 runs for the team.

Sohail Khan grabbed two wickets for the match while Mohammad Amir, Usama Mir and Ravi Bopara grabbed a wicket each.
