KARACHI: One man was killed as unidentified assailants carried out a targeted attack in Karachi’s Defence Phase-VII area on Saturday afternoon, ARY News reported.
The deceased was identified as Taley Zar, a driver by the occupation of one named Shabbir Hussain, the police said.
According to a senior official of Darakhshan Police Station, Zar had arrived outside the college to pick up Hussain’s daughter. As soon as he pulled over, the killers, already waiting for him, opened fire.
The police said that apparently, a 30 bore pistol was used to kill Zar with the deceased receiving one bullet in his chest.
“One shell of a 30 bore pistol has been recovered from the scene”, said the police officer.

Karachi, in recent days, have seen several killings one after the other. On Tuesday night, armed men shot dead a man on Shahrae Faisal near Kala Pul in an alleged target killing incident.
The dead was identified as Riaz, son of Raees Khan, said rescue sources.
On Wednesday, a man was shot dead by unidentified assailants near the city’s Yousuf Plaza area in Gulberg Town.
The man was killed from the point-blank range and the bullet hit in his face, hence claiming his life on the spot.
Earlier in the same day, a man identified as Zulfikar Ali was shot dead by armed miscreants within the limits of Gizri Police Station.
