On the flip side, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Dr Yasmin Rashid on Sunday continued her house-to-house by-election campaign in the constituency.
Expressing resentment over assault on party workers last night while visiting voters’ houses in Islampura, she said that Punjab police is yet to register an FIR against PML-N’s goons who attacked her PTI workers.
PTI leaders Chaudhry Sarwar, Ijaz Chaudhry and Andleeb Abbas were accompanying Yasmin during her door-to-door campaign.
In the General Elections 2013, Dr Yasmin Rashid secured 52,354 votes against the winning candidate deposed PM Nawaz Sharif who earned 91,683 votes in NA-120.
It merits to mention here that the seat for National Assembly from NA-120 (Lahore’s constituency) fell vacant after former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s ouster by Supreme Court in the landmark 28 July verdict. The by-poll is to be held by next month in the NA-120 constituency.
