LAHORE: Maryam Nawaz – the daughter of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif – has been inducted into the top tier of ruling party Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), ARY News reported on Sunday.
Maryam has made a formal entrance into the PML-N as member of party’s Executive Committee (CEC).
The ruling party has also inducted some new faces including Maryam’s first cousin Hamza Shehbaz Sharif in its 27-member supreme body.
Besides CEC, Sharif-led PML-N also announced 109 members of its Central Working Committee (CWC).

The ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has announced its Central Executive Committee (CEC) and Central Working Committee (CWC).
Both Maryam Nawaz and Hamza Shahbaz have been made part of CEC which only contained the top tier of PML-N leadership.
The party’s supreme body comprises Raja Zafar-ul-Haq, PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan, Parvez Rasheed, Khawaja Asif, Ahsan Iqbal, Ayaz Sadiq, Marriyum Aurangzeb, Saad Rafique and Marriyum Nawaz.
PML-N president and ex-PM Nawaz Sharif will head both committees while Raja Zafar-ul-Haq would be a member in two committees.
The prominent names in the 109-member CWC include party secretary general Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, deputy secretary general Ahsan Ibqal, secretary finance Pervaiz Rashid, senior vice presidents Sardar Yaqoob Nasir and Nawabzada Changaiz Mari, vice president Saleem Zia, assistant secretary generals Abdul Qadir Baloch and Salah ud Din Tirmizi, and secretary information Mushahid Ullah Khan.
