Met department forecasts rainfall at scattered places as monsoon currents entering Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The weather department has predicted rainfall with strong gusty winds at scattered places in upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, FATA and Kashmir, while at isolated places in Lower Sindh, South Punjab, Zhob, Kalat, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

The seasonal low lies over north Balochistan and its adjoining areas as a westerly wave is still affecting upper parts of the county and monsoon currents are penetrating in upper parts of the country, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said in a weather forecast.

Hot and humid conditions across the country, including in the Potohar region, incited cool, moist winds from the east, mostly from the region south of Nepal, which is collided with cool dry winds from the west.

The weather officials predicted pleasant weather on Eid holidays, apart from rain and dust storms that are expected at isolated locations in Zhob, Kalat, Malakand, Hazara, Mardan, Peshawar, Rawalpindi and Gujranwala division, Islamabad, the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) and Kashmir.

Light rainfall and drizzle are also expected at a few places along the Sindh coast.
