MIRANSHAH: The military’s has launched its ground offensive in North Waziristan after a phase of aerial strikes in the tribal region, ARY News reported on Thursday.
According to a spokesman of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) ground troops were moved in to Miranshah on Thursday as artillery continued to target the militant hideouts in the area.
Security forces were now moving in to consolidate their positions and clear the hideouts of militants in Miranshah region.
According to sources the ground operation of the military in the region has started early morning on Thursday.
The number of the militants killed during the military’s ‘Operation Zarb-e-Azb’ in the region has reached near 300, sources said.
