The representatives warned of halting supply if their arrested fellows were not released. They warned of spilling all the milk at highways connecting the city to rest of the country as sign of protest.
In mean time, another dairy farmer association headed by Haji Sikander called of its strike and agreed upon selling milk at official rates.
The Commissioner Karachi, Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui warned of a more strict action against those not abiding by the orders.
However, a considerable number of milk shops remained closed on Wednesday with people moving from one shop to other in search of the commodity.
Retailers are of the view that they are unable to sell milk at official rates as it costs them much from the dairy farmers and then they also have to bear the cost of transportation, polythene bags and rubber bands.
