Mobile phone of Hungarian ambassador’s wife stolen at Islamabad hotel

ISLAMABAD: In an infrequent incident, a mobile phone of the wife of Hungarian ambassador was stolen at a hotel in Islamabad.

According to reports, Emilia Slabo approached the Secretariat Police Station and lodged an FIR about her mobile phone being stolen during an event in Islamabad on October 26.

As per the complaint she lodged, the lady informed the police that she had kept her mobile phone on the table and went to use the toilet. According to her, when she returned to her seat the mobile phone was missing.

The police officials said that the department was trying to detect and grab the culprit with the help of CCTV footage, however, reportedly there aren’t any CCTV cameras installed inside the halls of the hotel.

According to reports, the police department is further trying to find the mobile through its IMEI number.

Earlier this month, a CCTV was aired by a number of national TV channels showing a bureaucrat stealing a wallet of a Kuwaiti official in Islamabad. It happened after a meeting between a Kuwaiti delegation and Pakistani government officials.

After video of the incident went viral, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry announced that Zarrar Haider was suspended on disciplinary grounds for stealing the wallet and ordered investigation against him.
