Money trail of Bilawal’s property to be provided, MQM-P leader pleads

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Mehfooz Yar Khan has filed a petition in Sindh High Court against Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to a provide money trail of his entire property.

Mehfooz Yar Khan who is vying with Bilawal from Lyari constituency has maintained in his petition that each property of Bilawal is declared as a gift to him, which doesn’t offer details as to when and who gifted it to PPP chairman. Thus, a complete money trail of these properties should be provided, the petition added.

The petition quoted the case of former premier Nawaz Sharif’s disqualification on the basis of money trail of his property and challenged the eligibility of Bilawal to contest polls on the similar grounds.

MQM-P’s candidate from Lyari presented all relevant documents of Bilawal’s nomination papers in the high court. However, the court asked Mehfoz to submit an affidavit as well which mentions that Bilawal’s documents were received from the office of Returning Officer.

The hearing was adjourned till July 16.
