Addressing a press conference a day earlier, MQM-P leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui had said Sindh was being ruled by the people with a ‘fake mandate.
He alleged that population census was tampered with to benefit a particular political party in the elections in Sindh.
Siddiqui, who is also the Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication, said the population of urban Sindh was not counted and reiterated the population of Karachi was no less than thirty million.
He said one of the biggest projects for Karahci, K-IV, was targeted to halt its progress. “The peace in the entire country is connected to peace in Karachi,” he stated.
He said autonomy of Pakistan was more important than a provincial autonomy.
Siddiqui said powers were still not devolved to lower level in Sindh. He questioned how a country could run if corruption was not eliminated once and for all.
