KARACHI: A Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) worker was shot dead while another sustained wounds when unidentified armed men opened indiscriminate fire on party’s union council office in North Karachi, ARY News reported.
The firing incident took place in North Karachi’s UC-6 area.
Speaking to ARY News, MQM-P leader Khawaja Izharul Hassan confirmed that a party worker was killed in the firing while another sustained wounds.
“Four to five assailants stormed the office and opened fire”, he claimed while talking in the ARY News program 11th Hour.
He said that those targeting MQM-P were enemies of peace.

Hassan, former leader of the opposition in the Sindh Assembly, lamented that party leader Ali Raza Abidi’s killers had not been arrested yet.
Later, while talking to media at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, MQM-P leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui demanded the government to inquire the matter within 48 hours.
“MPA Usama Qadri, Khwaja Izhar ul Hassan’s offices have been attacked in past and now this has happened. The government needs to ensure the safety of MQM-P members”, he said.
On the other hand, Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) leader Raza Haroon contacted MQM-P leaders Aamir Khan and Faisal Sabzwari and condemned the incident.
