MQM protests as FIR registered against Karimabad arrestees

According to SSP Central Noman Siddiqui, a case has been registered against the boys arrested from Karimabad  with the state as plaintiff.

Anti-terrorism clauses are invoked in the case against the culprits of the scuffle between PTI and MQM supporters.

MQM leaders including Rehan Hashmi, Rasheed Godial and Asif Hasnain reached Gulberg police station along with the relatives of detained workers and protested outside the police station as they were not allowed entry.

Some of the detainees are identified as Mudassir, Asif, Naveed, Muzammil and Mateen.

MQM MNA Abdul Rasheed Godial while speaking to media said that the arrested lads are not MQM workers but residents of the area while Asif Husnain claimed that police is taking sides in this matter.

Naveed Jamil later spoke to media in detail and lamented that no where in the world, police stations and hospitals are closed but MQM leaders along with elders of the locality are waiting outside the Gulberg police station for four hours.

He claimed that Karachi contributes most to the economy but still the people of the city are deprived of basic human rights.

The Karimabad Scuffle

Political temperature heated up for the second time in a day between MQM and PTI workers who faced off each other in Karimabad area, prompting police to intervene.

MQM workers had gathered outside PTI election camp and chanted slogans against PTI. Some of the MQM activists reportedly thrashed workers of rival political party and burnt PTI flag.

Police nabbed the violent political workers. Amid the face-off, PTI workers also raised slogans against the MQM.
