The shocking incident happened when 19-year-old Asif Shaikh, a gym trainer and 19-year-old Danish Shaikh, were returning home from Bhabha Hospital on a bike at midnight.
The police shouted at them while beating and calling them being ‘Pakistanis and IS agents’, said a report.
Police officials caught the duo from near Bandra Reclamation and beaten them black and blue with belts and batons for around three hours in Bandra police station till 6.30 am.
Then, their parents were called to take them home. After the incident, victims’ families registered a complaint at Bandra police station, following which an inquiry has been initiated.
Asif and Danish, students of Rizvi College, live in the same building near St Michael Church in Mahim and on Friday, Oct 16, both had gone to meet an ailing neighbour, who was admitted to Bhabha hospital.
One report stated the cops also said they were ready to pay Rs 50,000 or more to the youths and asked the youths not to press the matter further and not to lodge a complaint which will not yield any result”, he added.
