Murad gives 10-day deadline for keeping Karachi clean

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah chaired a meeting to review the progress in Karachi’s cleanliness and sanitation drive this morning. Chief Secretary of Sindh, Secretary Local Bodies, Commissioner Karachi, Administrator Karachi and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.

The chief minister said that it is the responsibility of the government to provide cheaper and healthy leisure facilities to the people of the city. He urged the local government authorities to keep the city clean.

“Along with the streets and roads of the city, coastal areas should also be cleaned,” he added.

“I want Karachi to become clean within 240 hours,” the chief minister said.

He also said that the repair work on Quaidabad Road will also start from today.

It should be noted that Murad Ali Shah after assuming the charge of the chief minister of Sindh giving special attention to the sanitation and cleanliness of the city. He makes surprise visits across Karachi to keep in check the performance of the municipal officers.

He has repeatedly stressed on the municipal authorities to improve the drainage and cleaning systems in the metropolis.

In a meeting earlier, CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah had warned the administration of Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) that those who fail to perform their duties will be dismissed.
