Murad vows to identify, prosecute culprits behind Sehwan attack

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah on Saturday vowed to bring the culprits behind the Sehwan attack to justice, ARY News reported.

While speaking to media at the Sindh University in Jamshoro, the chief minister said that the government of Sindh has planned to increase security at shrines and other sensitive places.

However, he said that it was imperative to identify the perpetrators of the Sehwan blast and their accomplices to bring them to justice and deliver an exemplary punishment.

He said that the suspects from the Sehwan blast were identified by the same equipment which people had criticised and said were not functioning properly.

“The bomber was identified using footage from the same CCTV cameras that people had criticised and said did not work,” he said.

Regarding the payment of compensation to the families of the victims, he said that they have already announced compensation and are in process of identifying the heirs of the blast victims after which the amount will be given.

“More importantly, we are working to find the culprits so that they can be prosecuted,” he added.

Murad refused to comment on the press conference of Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar earlier today during which he blamed the government of Sindh for the lack of security at the shrine leading to the terror attack.
