However, MQM senior leader Farooq Sattar had clarified that the hunger strike camp was not only organised against the arrests of the six party workers rather they were protesting against “injustice in the province”.
Sattar was of the view that his party wanted an end to political bashing and victimisation in Sindh being practised against MQM only.
He said the party leadership was unable to understand how an unwanted person overnight becomes wanted.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah after taking notice of the hunger strike ordered the release of the held MQM workers on Thursday and even made a phone call to the provincial opposition leader Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hassan urging him to end his party’s hunger strike at the earliest since their demands were met.
Shah assured the Muttahida senior leader that he would not allow anyone to harass citizens nor he believed in political victimisation.
Pakistan People’s Party on Thursday sped up attempts to break the ice after MQM activists protested against the arrest of their party workers who according to police officials were picked up for questioning from the Gulistan-e-Jauhar area.
Following the release of the MQM workers, PPP’s senior leader, Khursheed Shah, who also represents the opposition in the National Assembly, visited MQM hunger strike camp outside the Karachi Press Club and discussed matters that bothered them.
Talking to media, he said, PPP would not let any party alone to survive and struggle when this homeland was for everyone and asked the Governor Sindh to address MQM’s concerns and reservations for that matter.
