NA-245 by-polls: PTI candidate withdraws, joins MQM

PTI candidate Amjad Ullah, while announcing his move to leave the PTI and withdrawal of his candidacy in favour of MQM’s Kamal Malick, said he ahd some reservations with the party, leading him to join the MQM.

The PTI candidate accused his party of sidelining him and alleged that PTI Chief Imran Khan did not even make a telephone call to him during campaign for the constituency.

He sounded critical of PTI policy to focus mere on PS-155 provincial constituency and neglecting the National Assembly seat.

He went on to say that there was no such thing like management in the PTI.

The national and provincial seats had fallen vacant after MQM MNA Rehan Hashmi resigned from NA-245 and MPA Dr Arshad Vohra from PS-115 when the party assigned them key positions in the upcoming local government system after the Dec 5 polls.

Meanwhile, PTI leaders called an emergency press conference following withdrawal of their candidate in favour of MQM, however it was cancelled as PTI workers scuffled with each other over some issue.
