LAHORE: An accountability court on Saturday directed investigation officer of the anti-corruption watchdog to submit a report over recent development made in inquiry against Chaudhry brothers, ARY News reported.
The investigation officer appeared in the hearing and sought approval of the accountability court to close inquiry against the top leaders of Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q).
He told the court that NAB chairman Justice (Retd.) Javed Iqbal gave formal approval to close the inquiry. He added investigators found no shreds of evidence regarding purchases of the 28 plots by the Chaudhry brothers during the probe into LDA case. He detailed that the plots were bought by a servant of the PML-Q leaders.
The National Accountability Bureau’s investigation officer was ordered to file a report in next hearing over NAB’s plea seeking suspension of inquiry against Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and Chaudhry Shujaat in Lahore Development Authority (LDA) case.
Later, the hearing was adjourned till April 9.
