ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (R) Javed Iqbal has initiated inquiry into the alleged suicide of Brig (R) Asad Munir, citing sources, ARY News reported on Tuesday.
According to well informed sources, the NAB Rawalpindi chapter has provided all the relevant record into the matter.
The concerned cellular company has been asked to provide phone data of Brig (R) Asad Munir, however his mobile phone can also be checked if required.
The chairman NAB had decided to initiate inquiry into the matter by himself to ascertain the cause behind the alleged suicide.
Last week, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Asif Saeed Khosa
had also took notice of the alleged suicide of Brigadier (retd) Asad Munir and summoned sought the investigation report against Asad Munir from Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal.
The former member of Capital Development Authority (CDA) Brigadier (Retd) Asad Munir was found dead at Diplomatic Enclave in Islamabad, on March 15.
Police hinted the death as suspected suicide as ‘Munir was worried for an ongoing investigation against him by the NAB.’
It is pertinent to mention here that the ex-CDA member was facing allegations for restoring of plots in F-11 area of the federal capital.
