KARACHI: Senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Nabeel Gabol on Sunday invited Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Farooq Sattar to join his party and participate in the PPP rally, ARY News reported.
The PPP is set to hold today a public meeting in Liaquatabad, the stronghold of the MQM, nearly 44 years after its last political show in the city’s neighbourhood.
The rally will start at 4:00 pm in Federal Capital Area’s Tanki Ground where 30,000 chairs have been placed with 120 feet long and 40 feet wide stage set up for senior party leadership to address the participants.
It was in 1974 when PPP founder and former prime minister Zulifkar Ali Bhutto addressed a mammoth gathering in Liaquatabad.
Talking to media, Gabol offered Farooq Sattar to join the PPP saying that the MQM was no more as same party.
“MQM has divided into several factions including PIB and Bahadurabad where Farooq Sattar has no future. Hopefully, the MQM chief will respond positively to my offer,” he said.
The PPP leader also said a big crowd was about to leave from Lyari for the public gathering. He said today’s rally would turn out to be historical.
