PESHAWAR: Ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Sunday asked people to vote for the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) in 2018 general elections so that parliament could be fortified to rescind court verdict of his disqualification for life in Panama Leaks case, ARY News reported.
“Do you approve of my deposition for life? Can this verdict break relation between you and me? Cast vote in the PML-N’s favor in 2018, so that such laws could be amended by the parliament to reverse court decision,” he said while addressing a rally in Peshawar.
The Supreme Court had disqualified Nawaz Sharif in a unanimous verdict in the Panamagate case last year.
Nawaz said the court of masses had announced verdict in favor of him and other PML-N leaders Daniyal Aziz and Talal Chaudhry.
“Daniyal and Talal were summoned for contempt of court, however the court of people has announced verdict in their favor in all the notices including my deposition,” he said.
