LAHORE: Spokesperson of Punjab Chief Minister, Shahbaz Gill has said that the government could allow incarcerated former premier Nawaz Sharif to acquire services of foreign doctors through video calls, ARY News reported on Thursday.
Talking to media here in Lahore, Gill said, if Nawaz Sharif wanted to get treatment from foreign doctors, then their services could be acquired through video calls.
He added that a delegation of British doctors was currently present in Pakistan to attend a conference.
“Nawaz Sharif is being offered to avail all [medical] facilities which he can get whenever he says,” said Gill.
The CM’s spokesperson said that he recently met the former prime minister and found him to be in a good health. He prayed that Almighty Allah gives him more health.
Gill said that Sharif had been informed regarding the instruction given to the authorities by the Prime Minister Imran Khan and Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar.
“Sharif was apparently waiting for the verdict of the Supreme Court (SC) on his bail petition on medical grounds,” he said.
Angiography procedure will clarify whether Sharif’s arteries are blocked or not, he added.
Gill urged that the matter of Sharif’s health should not be politicised at all. The spokesperson said that he doesn’t want to make any comment on the health issues of the former premier which hurts Sharif family.
Gill clarified that the government was ready to provide all facilities to the incarcerated premier in accordance with the law.
