Negative propaganda against army leadership ‘disappointing’: DG ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Director-General ISPR General Asim Bajwa says that negative propaganda against the army leadership must be avoided.

In an informal talk with journalists here, Gen Bajwa dismissed the rumours pertaining to routine army appointments.

He termed the rumours against army chief ‘disappointing’.

The military spokesperson said negative propaganda against the army head should be avoided.

“Speculations should not be made over routine army appointments and if any changes were to be made in the army, the ISPR would notify the media,” said Mr. Bajwa.

General Qamar Javed Bajwa took charge as the 16th army chief of the world’s sixth-largest army by troop numbers in a formal colourful handover today.

The succession ceremony where General Raheel Sharif handed over the ceremonial baton to his successor was held at the hockey stadium of General Headquarters (GHQ) in the garrison city.
