The order has been issued by Nepra after investigation of one year since the regulatory authority issued temporary orders regarding the matter.
According to NEPRA, bank charges of two rupees are already included in the bills.
The national power monitoring board has ordered the power company to return the charges taken from September 2006 and issue its report within the next 30 days.
It should be noted that K-Electric has 22 million consumers and they will have to return Rs. 726 per consumer. In this way, the total payment for the company will be around Rs. 600 million.
One the other hand, KE has said that the decision of the NEPRA is contrary to the facts.
