New Zealand Cricket hands clean-chit to Mohammad Amir

New Zealand Cricket officials stated that they have no issue in allowing Amir to play in the country.

A spokesman of the cricketing board stated that Mohammad Amir was cleared to represent his national side by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and cannot be stopped from playing for his country.

New Zealand media also has wished the fast bowler well for comeback in the national team.

Mohammad Amir, along with Salman Butt

and Mohammad Asif, were banned and jailed over a 2010 spot-fixing scandal in England. The trio was accused of arranging deliberate no-balls during the Lord’s Test against England in return for money in August 2010.

The fast bowler was recently drafted into Karachi Kings, owned by ARY Digital Network President and CEO Salman Iqbal, for the inaugural edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Pakistan will tour New Zealand in January next year.
