Nine terrorists killed in Sheikhupura shootout

SHEIKHUPURA: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) gunned down nine terrorists in an encounter in Sheikhupura’s Maliyan area on Tuesday night, ARY News reported.

According to details, terrorists opened fire at the CTD personnel as they carried out a raid after receiving information regarding presence of 14 terrorists present in the area.

An exchange of fire took place after which nine terrorists were killed while five of their accomplices managed to escape.

CTD said that six kilograms of explosive material, four kalashnikovs, five pistols and five motorcycles were recovered from the slain terrorists.

The anti-terror department went on to say that the attackers were affiliated with banned organizations wanted to target police officers and security agencies in Lahore and intelligence agencies.

It should be noted that CTD had carried out a raid in Sargodha and had arrested four alleged terrorists. Suicide jackets and weapons were seized from the nabbed terrorists.

Five terrorists belonging to a banned organization were killed in a shootout in Gujranwala.
