No compromise over the accountability process, PM Khan reiterates

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday reiterated his resolve for accountability process in the country, saying that there will be “no compromise”. 

In a meeting with senior parliamentarian Senator Babar Awan, at the PM office on Tuesday, the prime minister said the government would not politically victimise anyone, but at the same time, there will be ‘no compromise’ on the process of accountability.

“Neither does the PTI believe in politics of victimisation, nor anyone would be politically targeted,” he maintained.

Mr Awan underscored the need of across the board accountability for putting the country on the road to prosperity.

Matters related to the country’s overall political situation and judicial reforms also came under discussion during the meeting.

Prime Minister Imran Khan on December 24 too had said that his government would never compromise over the issue of accountability.

The prime minister had expressed these views in a meeting with Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry where the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant for Accountability Shahzad Akbar was also present.

Prime Minister Khan had said, ”we have to speed up the process of accountability and make it more effective.”
