Noor Jehan’s grandson bags role opposite Humaima Malick!

We just might be in for another superstar in the making and that too, legendary singer Noor Jehan’s grandson!

Sikander Rizvi has bagged the lead role in an upcoming movie set in Lahore, opposite actress Humaima Malick. Rizvi wasn’t the first choice for the lead role, it was Fawad Khan. After the Khoobsurat star turned down the role, Sikander was approached to star in the project, to which he said yes. He also revealed the fact that he had never intended to work in films despite always being in the company of celebrities from the film industry.

“I never wanted to work in films even though I have always been surrounded by the film stars,”  “When Fawad dropped out, I happily stepped into his shoes.”

The romantic-comedy movie’s name is Dekh Magar Piyar Se, a popular phrase in Urdu. Directed by Asad-Ul-haq, it will be a one of a kind movie, according to the director hismelf.

“‘Dekh Magar Pyaar Say’ is based in the cultural capital of Pakistan and will be featuring

a spanking brand new outlook on the traditional romantic movie, one that is filled with twists, turns, surprises and everything in between, all the while debunking established cliches associated with the romance genre,” said Asad.

Sikander, who currently runs a successful food joint in Karachi by the name of Xanders, shared fond memories of his grandmother.

“One of my fondest memories is spending summer vacations at my mother’s family home in the French Riviera. My grandmom was a great cook and would make lavish Pakistani meals for us. She would always take her tabla player along and would sing for us every night after dinner.”

Sikander was hopeful regarding the response his film would receive. He stated that he would like to be accepted as an artist and a fine actor like most of his Pakistani contemporaries. The film would be released in Pakistan, India and internationally as well. Humaima Malick is a veteran actress who starred in Shoaib Mansoor’s Bol before making her Bollywood debut in Raja Natwarlal beside Emraan Hashmi.
