ISLAMABAD: National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) on Friday donated Rs5 million to the Diamer-Basha and Mohmand dams fund set up by Supreme Court of Pakistan and the prime minister of Pakistan.
According to a statement released from the ministry, NUST pro-rector Major General (retd) Jahangir Khan called on the Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) Dr Tariq Banuri to present a cheque of Rs5 million as donation on the behalf of his faculty and staff to the dams fund.
On this occasion, the pro-rector said that faculty and staff have given donations for the noble cause. Whereas the chairman HEC appreciated the contribution of the NUST faculty and staff.
CEO ARY Digital Network Salman Iqbal announces to donate $100, 000 to PM-CJ dam fund
It is pertinent to mention here that President and CEO ARY Digital Network Salman Iqbal, on September 7, had announced a donation of 100, 000 US Dollars for Prime Minister and Chief Justice Fund for construction of dams.
The announcement came minutes after Prime Minister Imran Khan had urged the nation and overseas Pakistanis to contribute generously to the fund to save country from the looming water crisis.
