One death row convict executed in Mianwali

The convict Abdul Sattar was executed in Mianwali Central Jail for killing a citizen 23 years ago over a minor dispute.

A meeting was arranged between him and his family members before the execution.

Pakistan has hanged 22 convicts including Abdul Sattar in three days as twelve were sent to the gallows on Tuesday while Wednesday saw execution of nine convicts.

Pakistan lifted the death-penalty moratorium for terrorism-related cases after Taliban attack on a school in Peshawar which killed 149 people, mostly children.

Last week,the government completely lifted the death-penalty ban for all cases.
