One killed, two injured in Swat blast

SWAT: At least one person was killed and two others sustained injuries when a remote-detonated bomb went off on Monday in the Ghat area of Swat’s Malam Jabba.

The blast took place near the residence of a member of Village Defence Committee (VDC).

According to police, VDC member Ahmed Zeb’s father has been killed in the explosion that apparently aimed to target the committee member.

Two other people have also sustained injuries, whose identity could not be established immediately.

Moreover, the injured were shifted to a nearby hospital and the area was cordoned off by the security forces in search of culprits behind the incident.
