Opposition protests over interference in GB interim setup

The opposition leader in his letter said that it is unconstitutional to include five more names for the chief minister of Gilgit-Baltistan.

He stated that the 18th Amendment clearly states the procedure regarding the caretaker government in all the provinces and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Earlier a caretaker cabinet was announced and ministers were named in Gilgit-Baltistan, with Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Jamat e Islami (JI) also having representation in the interim government.

People of Gilgit-Baltistan have high expectations with the caretaker setup regarding the conduct of free and fair elections in the region.
