Our priority poverty alleviation, not showcasing road projects: Imran

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan took to Twitter on Wednesday to acclaim ‘remarkable achievement’ of his party’s government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in alleviating poverty in the province. 

In a series of tweets, the PTI chairman said, “Remarkable achievement of PTI – first time in govt. Our priority was poverty alleviation not simply showcase mega roads’ projects.”

Khan said, “PTI’s success in KP’s poverty reduction was the result of many initiatives: merit based recruitment created a level playing field for all. Better public schools & reformed health service in govt hospitals; health cards for the poor.”

 

He further said, “Micro-hydel projects in remote areas providing cheap elec(electricity) for local ppl(people); environment-friendly BillionTreeTsunami providing jobs to locals.”

 

“A professional depoliticized police force which has created a more secure environment & has drawn investment into KP.”

 

The PTI chairman asserted, “It is the success of a holistic ppl-centric approach by PTI’s govt that has led to reduction of poverty in KP.”
