ISLAMABAD: Federal government released over Rs609 billion out of which Rs373.91 billion were spent under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) during the first 10 months of the current fiscal year, a document released by the Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives.
The document further stated that over Rs85.29 billion were spent on the National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) and PEPCO development projects under PSDP.
Rs59.97 were spent on water-related development projects, while Rs56 billion were spent under the development project of the Cabinet Division during the first 10 months of the fiscal year.
Rs41.49 billion were spent for the development of the merged tribal districts in KP and Rs24.43 billion were spent on the development projects of the High Education Commission (HEC) under PSDP.

The PML-N government on Saturday again cut the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) by Rs79 billion to Rs566.85bn, reducing the budgeted allocation for the whole fiscal year by nearly a third, citing fiscal woes.
Earlier, the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) cleared 15 development projects worth Rs 249.21 billion during its meeting held under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Planning Development and Special Initiatives Professor Ahsan Iqbal.
The forum considered 15 projects related to the Ministry of Housing and Works, ministry of national health services regulations and Coordination, Ministry of Communication, Power Division and Ministry of Railways, the state news agency reported.
