Overseas Pakistani remits 10.35bn during first seven months of FY15

According to press release issue by State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), during January 2015, the inflow of worker’s remittances amounted to $1,377.14 million, which is 13 percent lower than December 2014 and 10 percent higher than January 2014.

As per statistics disclosed by the central bank,  the country wise details for the month of January 2015 shows that inflows from Saudi Arabia, UAE, USA, UK, GCC countries (including Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar

and Oman) and EU countries amounted to $452.81 million, $246.79 million, $186.15 million, $169.44 million, $160.44 million and $65.45 million respectively compared with the inflow of $393.27 million, $214.21 million, $193.09 million, $169.67 million, $151.09 million and $34.65 million respectively in January 2014.

Furthermore, remittances received from Norway, Switzerland, Australia, Canada, Japan and other countries during January 2015 amounted to $96.06 million together as against $90 million received in January 2014.
